waves
you laid down your head in
front of me,
"axe me" you said, "axe me"
we did nothing, I said,
"take me away", "take me",
the river enters the sea and
it cannot come back
it cannot come back
there is no more shore
for my waves to lap against
and there is no way back
strange hands caress me now
they thicken my skin
from my breasts to my back
